Because it was late in the day (Saturday), and the weather was going sour, we decided to stay at a small cabin at Rubicon Springs. We hoped that the conditions would be better in the morning and we could fly up Cadillac Hill and let the Fam know we would be home on Sunday afternoon. A long (~2 mile) climb and five miles of fire roads separated us from the paved roads on the shores of Lake Tahoe.
