These photos were taken following completion of my 2005 field season at Laguna del Laja. Most of the photos were taken in the Lake District north of Patagonia. Chile is a country with friendly people, amazing scenery, and great geology. Although I enjoyed all of the country that I saw while driving and bus riding 1000km of the 4000km length of chile, I noticed that the further south I got the more inspiring the country became. This can be a blessing and a curse because the further south you go the more likely you are to run into some gnarly weather. I lucked out and only got rained on once or twice. Patagonian weather may be the fiercest anywhere on the globe and therefore Patagonia is a land that must be respected as much as it is enjoyed. Patagonia will be my destination next winter during travel time before or after my field season.
